Project - Clean Air for Healthy Life

In view of the TRF Centennial, The Rotary Club of Colombo planned a TRF Centennial project and fundraiser to coincide with World Environment Day on 4th June 2017 at the BMICH. This project is to create awareness of non-communicable diseases as explained below in greater detail.

This apex body of medical doctors of Sri Lanka has chosen the theme to promote “Clean Air” and create awareness of neglected Non-communicable Diseases (NCDs) such as asthma, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) and occupational ling diseases. In line with this the Sri Lanka Medical Association (SLMA) has scheduled a “Health Run and Walk 2017”.

 The event which is an association between the Rotary Club of Colombo Midtown and the SLMA, consist of:

  1. 1. Health Run for professional athletes and other interested participants
  2. 2. Health Walk for professional and general public
  3. 3. Health screening for all participants and other related activities such as Yoga, Zumba, etc.
  4. 4. Art Competition amongst pre-school and school children under 3 age groups on the theme “ Clean Air for Healthy Life”.

The Rotary logo was be displayed on all publicity material. The funds raised for the project through corporate sponsorship will also be contributed to The Rotary Foundation
